Funds derived from a sequence of romance scams were laundered by Ghanaian Singer and social media influencer Mona Faiz Montrage, better known as Hajia4Real . She admitted her involvement in this crime.
She pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy to receive stolen money today. U.S. Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave witnessed her plea.

Her lawyer was changed by Hajia4Real in November 2023. She had been represented by Adam Cortez since the start of her prosecution. However, they parted ways.
On November 8, 2023, she asked the US court to change her attorney. The court granted her request on November 9, 2023.
Ms. Eleanor Fast from ‘The Fast Law Firm PC’ was hired by her to handle her case from then on.
