Boston City Council declares March 2 as Burna Boy Day

In a significant move, the City Council of Boston, Massachusetts United States has declared March 2, 2024, as Burna Boy Day in the city. The resolution, offered by Councillor Ruthzee Louijeune, is a recognition of singer and songwriter Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as “Burna Boy.”

He adds to the list of other Nigerian artists like wizkid who is celebrated every 6th of October in Minnesota and Davido who is celebrated every 18 November in Atlanta Georgia.

Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, Burna Boy has become a global cultural icon who has helped introduce and popularize Afrobeat to the entire world.
