Close to the modern ventilator. An iron lung is a respirator aid that was designed and invented by John Haven Emerson in 1931. He named it Emerson Respirator, an improvement over a similar artefact known as the Drinker model developed in 1928.
Paul Alexander’s kin put him in one. He has just died having lived in it for 70 years.
Despite being trapped in the iron long, Paul was able to be a successful lawyer.
